Career Summary 

Dr. Türe graduated from Ankara Hacettepe University School of Medicine  and the

same year he was accepted to the neurosurgery residency program at İstanbul Şişli

Etfal Hospital Neurosurgery Clinic. During his residency and afterwards he studied

microsurgery and surgical neuroanatomy under the supervision of Professor M.G.

Yaşargil at the Neurosurgery Clinic of Zurich University, Switzerland. He worked as a

staff neurosurgeon at İstanbul Şişli Etfal Hospital Neurosurgery Clinic. He continued his work on surgical neuroanatomy under the supervision of Professor M.G. Yaşargil and Professor O. Al-Mefty at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, USA .

After returning to Turkey he worked at Istanbul Marmara University Department of

Neurosurgery. he worked in Samsun Ondokuz Mayis University Department of

Neurosurgery and became professor of neurosurgery. He is a Professor and Chairman

of the Department of Neurosurgery Istanbul Yeditepe University. 

Dr. Türe’s works on surgical neuroanatomy and surgical techniques have been

published in the most significant international neurosurgical journals and books. He

has attended numerous congresses, meetings and courses as an invited speaker in

various countries; including USA, Brazil, Portugal, Finland, Spain, Switzerland,

England, Germany, China and Japan. He was awarded with “honorable mention” for

his presentation “Is there a superior occipitofrontal fasciculus?” at the “CNS

Congress” . His presentation “The extreme lateral-transatlas approach for resection of

the dens of axis” was awarded with the “best contributed paper” in the “North

American Skull Base Society Congress” . He received the “Prof. Dr. Hamit Ziya

Gökalp Young Neurosurgeon Award” . Dr. Türe is a member of the “Turkish

Neurosurgical Society”, “American Association of Neurological Surgeons”, “Congress

of Neurological Surgeons”, “North American Skull Base Society”, and “World

Academy of Neurological Surgery.” He is an advisory board member for the

“Neurosurgery” and “Neurosurgical Review” journals.
